Have you ever been out fishing for catfish and no matter what bait you used, the catfish weren’t making an appearance? Try these three catfish bait recipes that you can make in a hurry. They’re guaranteed to get the cats biting, and they’re all made up of stuff that you can get at the market or the gas station the night before or the day you go catfishing. Keep in mind that if you have some quality catfish dip bait recipes or better still, some catfish stink bait recipes, they’ll serve you much more efficiently. These are just quick fix solutions.

1. Chicken Livers. They are the go-to catfish bait for a good reason. They work. The only reason to not use them is that they’re slippery, and it can be tough to keep them on the line. If you’re willing to overlook that issue, they’re awesome.

2. Scraps of Meat. Take the leftover meat scraps from your supper, shake them up in some garlic salt, then freeze them until you’re ready to go. It may seem too basic to work, but it gets results.

3. Hot Dogs. Cut them into slices, put them in a bag of garlic salt, shake them up, and leave them for a couple of days. These are a great emergency bait since most gas stations and convenience stores carry hot dogs. Just keep a bag of garlic salt in your glove box and you’re ready to go.

Next time you’re in a pinch for some catfish bait recipes, give these ones a shot. They should give you a nice chance of catching some big catfish on your next trip. Happy fishing!
