The 6 Top Causes of Death and The Best Ways To Prevent Them

Our world is a frightening place to live in. When a child is born, both parents wishes for the newborn to live and reach old age. Naturally, we all are going to die eventually, but we prefer to be in the best health and die in our (very) old age. None us wishes to die prematurely from cancer, or a heart attack, or be hit by a car. This is obvious.

Unfortunately, there are an infinite number of reasons why people die before their time. Many of those reasons are natural in origin (diseases, viruses, bacteria), but many are man-made (pollutants, car accidents), and most – ironically, the major causes of death – are actually a result of our very own choices (smoking, obesity, alcohol drinking).

Perhaps surprisingly, the most common cause of death worldwide is smoking. This is literally something that we can all avoid, and by doing so, significantly change our health and increase our lifespan. Not to mention that by doing so, we alsoincrease our budget and shield our offspring from the damage we cause to them.

In our site, Cause of Death, we survey the top causes of death and describe, in detail, the six most common reasons people die before their time.

Furthermore, we offer practical advice that could help our readers to prevent these untimely deaths. Our goal is, literally, to get you to live longer. Hey, even if a single person changes his lifestyle as a result of our advice and lives longer, then our mission has been successfully accomplished. It is as the Talmud says: “To save one life is as if you have saved the world”. We think so too.
